This is my buddy Scott who lives outside of San Francisco. He came to the Blue Ridge mountains to hunt black bear in the beautiful Jocassee Gorges.

Despite a less than stellar guide, Scott was a trooper and proved himself to be a very tough hunter. Our last day we sat in a steady drizzle for hours on the side of a mountian that was covered with bear sign, only to strike out. But he certainly gets a badge for his perseverance.

He and his wife have had a couple of kids since this 2003 trip so he cant get out as much anymore, but once a bear hunter always a bear hunter!
