makeing the shot count-old one shot

fellows ..let me tell you a little story that really took place.back in the mid 70's.. iit was the 3rd year  hunting  with  the same fellows in southern col. i was useing the  hot 300 winchester mag . and so was the other 5 fellows in camp ..buy  the 3 rd year hunting with these fellows.. i had a name  they called me.. it was old one shot/// now  i was ony in my late twenty's. but over the years they where allways takeing about. me never missing a shot on elk or mule deer..one night we where sitting around talking about  .that days hunt when one of the fellow's   -tim.  asked me how come i was so great a shot all the time .so after thinking about it for a min or so.i said . now tim if you fellow's  want to know.i'll tell you.its like this.yea i'am a good shot . but i worked hard to get their . and i took the time to learn how to lead on a running shot's..but now that i said that.ever one of you is going to tell me thats how you feel about your self's/ and who am i to say your not.. but their's one thing fellows that i just don't do and i have watched  all of you do it over the past 3 years.??like you tim/// today when we had that group of elk run  out of the timber  down the hill from you and me..tim said yea.//i got off 4 shot's with my browning 300 mag,and got my 2nd clip in and fired 2 more..before it locked up  on me .. thats right'' tim you started fireing at him around 150 yards out . and was still fireing  on out to 225 yards. thats when i fired my one shot  and took him  thru both lungs on the dead run..tim said yea i know you did it again  one shot.. but donnie.i know how to lead  a elk also .but i just could not hit him for some reason.. thats when i said.. tim think about it'' you fired 6  times before me,..but you was doing the same thing all of you  seem to do most of the time.. you fellows just stand their fireing away standing upright.. shooting offhanded.. i ran off to the side to a old wooden fence and took a rest for my shot..now think over these past years have you fellow 's ever  saw me make a bad shot..now at the same time have you ever seen me take a shot over a 100 yards  and not use a rest???.so tim  .its like this i will take one shot off a rest  /// over 6 offhanded any day.. fellows a rest can make a normall  hunter really look good when your fireing  at game  any time ..
